Sunset Beach is a paid beach for summer only in the Kura area in the northern part of Ishigaki Island.
You can enjoy various activities such as snorkeling, SUP and wakeboarding at the here. The beach waves are calm and there are lifeguards, so it’s safe for families with young children.
In addition, there are facilities such as parking lots, toilets and showers, and you can enjoy BBQ too.
However, unlike the name, you can not see the sunset here. It is still bright during business hours. Since this beach is a paid beach, the road to the beach is closed outside of its business hours and you cannot go to the beach. Fusaki Beach is recommended for watching the sunset from the beach.

Sunset Beach is located in the northern part of Ishigaki Island. It takes about 70 minutes by car from the city center (around Bus Terminal or Ishigaki Port) and about 40 minutes from Ishigaki Airport.
You can get to Sunset Beach by route bus, rental car or taxi.
The beach is close to the bus stop and there are facilities such as showers and changing rooms, so you can go by route bus. However, please be aware of the time as there are not many buses to operate.
Go to Sunset Beach by route bus (Azuma Bus)
It is about a 2-minute walk from the bus stop to Sunset Beach. However, there are only three route buses (Azuma Bus) a day, so you need to be careful about the time.

The only route bus to Sunset Beach is No. 6, and there are only 3 buses a day. It departs from the Bus Terminal and goes to the beach via the airport.
The bus stop at Ishigaki Airport is ‘B’.
The bus fare from Bus Terminal to Sunset Beach is 1,150 yen, so it is better to buy a one-day Bus Pass (1,000 yen).

There is no taxi stand at Sunset Beach. Even if you call a taxi, you will have to wait about 40 minutes because it comes from airport.

Go to Sunset Beach by rental car
There is no traffic light on the way from the airport to Sunset Beach. Therefore, please be careful not to exceed the speed limit. Animals run out into the road rather than people in the northern part of Ishigaki Island.
It is convenient to use a MAPCODE

Facility Information of Sunset Beach
The beach is a paid beach, so there are showers, toilets and changing rooms. However, there is no restaurant, so it is recommended to buy food before going to the beach.
We recommend you to have a BBQ on the beach. You can also have a BBQ on the beach if you make a reservation the day before. BBQ while looking at the beautiful sea is a happy time.

Accommodations around Sunset Beach
There is no accommodation around Sunset Beach.
Restaurant around Sunset Beach
The Shin-Kokyu introduced below closed in December 2020.
As a result, there are no place to have lunch around Sunset Beach, so you need to bring your own food and drink. It takes about 1 hour by car to the nearest supermarket.
We recommend you to BBQ at the beach, although reservations are required.
There is no restaurant or cafe around Sunset beach. Here, we introduce a popular superb view cafe located about 10 minutes by walk from the beach.
