Cape Oganzaki is a cape on the western tip of Ishigaki Island. It may also be written as “Uganzaki”. Both names are used locally.
It is a steep cliff and you can see a spectacular sight. The scenery is different from Cape Hirakubo, located at the northernmost tip of Ishigaki.
Like Cape Hirakubo, there is also a white lighthouse here, called Oganzaki Lighthouse. You can get very close to the lighthouse.
The view of the white lighthouse and blue sky at Cape Oganzaki is beautiful, but it is also a great spot to watch the sunset. You can see the sun setting on the horizon.
It will take you approximately 30 minutes to sightsee at Cape Oganzaki. There is nothing around except the lighthouse.
However, you can see some beautiful scenery on the way to Cape Oganzaki. Therefore, be sure to take a trip around the peninsula where Cape Oganzaki is located.

Cape Oganzaki is located in the western part of Ishigaki Island. It is about 30 minutes by car from the city center (around Bus Terminal or Ishigaki Port) and about 35 minutes from Ishigaki Airport. You can get to Cape Oganzaki by rental car or taxi.
However, it is a tourist attraction that is inconvenient to reach by route bus. The lighthouse is about 5 km from the nearest bus stop (Sakieda).

The route bus to Cape Oganzaki (Sakieda) is operated about every hour from the Bus Terminal. However, Cape Oganzaki is about 5 km from the bus stop, so it is difficult to get there by route bus.

There are 11 buses a day from the Bus Terminal to Cape Oganzaki (Bus stop name : Sakieda). There are four routes buses bound for Cape Oganzaki, but we recommend route 9 bus. This route bus runs along the seaside road via the resort hotel. Therefore, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the sea from the bus.
When you go to Cape Oganzaki, you can see the sea on the left side, so the seat on the left side is recommended.
The bus fare from the Bus Terminal to Cape Oganzaki (Bus stop name : Sakieda) is 560 yen or 630 yen (It depends on the route.), so it is better to buy a one-day Bus Pass (1,000 yen) for those who make a round trip by bus.

Go to Cape Oganzaki by rental car
We recommend taking Route 79 along the coast from the city center to Cape Oganzaki. You can drive while looking at the beautiful sea.
There are parking lots along the road, and you can take your time taking photos of the sea.
It is convenient to use a MAPCODE

There is no taxi stand at Cape Oganzaki. Therefore, if you plan to take a taxi to get there and come back, you should keep the taxi waiting while you are sightseeing.
