You can see the narrowest part of the Ishigaki Island and you can see the Pacific Ocean and the East China Sea at the same time from Tamatorizaki Observatory. In addition, you can enjoy colorful tropical flowers and sea breeze. It is also famous as a place where you can see the sunrise and stars.

Tamatorizaki Observatory is located in the northern part of Ishigaki Island. It is about 55 minutes by car from the city center (around Bus Terminal or Ishigaki Port) and about 25 minutes from Ishigaki Airport.
The observatory is near the bus stop and can be reached by bus. However, there are not many buses to the observatory, and there are no taxis at the observatory. Therefore, it is necessary to plan in consideration of bus schedule.

There are two bus routes to the Tamatorizaki Observatory, and there are only four per day. The bus departs from Bus Terminal to Tamatorizaki Observatory via Ishigaki Airport.
The bus stop at Ishigaki Airport is ‘B’.
The bus fare to Tamatorizaki Observatory is 550 yen one way even from the airport, so it is better to buy a one-day Bus Pass (1,000 yen) for those who make a round trip by bus.

Restaurant SeaForest
*According to the restaurant’s official Instagram, pancakes do not appear to be on the menu as of August 2024. The menu has also changed significantly.
This restaurant is very close to the parking lot of Tamatorizaki Observatory.
The restaurant has a bright and calm atmosphere, and you can have lunch while looking at the sea. In addition, you can eat pancakes from 3pm.
The pancake menu requires a reservation, but it’s excellent. The pancakes are large in three layers, but the whipping cream and mango sauce are moderately sweet and you can eat them alone. You can also choose a refreshing berry sauce.
I have been to this restaurant several times to eat this pancake.
